BEYOND THE BARE MINIMUM

A Life in Progress

I’ve built a life. Now I’d quite like to enjoy living in it.

START HERE

boy; broken

A brief relationship came to an end. It wasn’t the reason I was unhappy, but it made me confront something I’d been avoiding for years. This is where the project began.

A Plank, a Bassline and a F*ck Off Box

Can a few small changes make everyday life feel a little better? My first experiment puts the ideas from Atomic Habits to the test, complete with a bass guitar, a one-minute plank and a box for locking away distractions.

THE PROJECT

There are two sides to this project. One is about looking back: the relationships, experiences and decisions that have shaped who I am, and how I’ve ended up feeling the way I do.

The other is about looking forward. Actually getting out there and trying things, whether that’s building better habits, meeting new people or doing something completely outside my comfort zone.

I don’t know how much of it will work. But that’s kind of the point.

STORIES

The people I’ve met, the relationships I’ve had, the things I’ve lost and the moments that have stayed with me. Some funny, some painful, and some I’m still trying to make sense of.

IN PRACTICE

Less thinking about changing my life, more actually doing something about it. Month-long experiments, unfamiliar experiences and the occasional questionable decision. I’ll share what happens, including when things don’t go to plan.
